Faith & Service Internship

The Downtown Chapel offers a post-graduate internship for young adults who are looking for the opportunity to explore their faith through service to the poor. The Faith & Service Intern oversees our Downtown Chapel Connects program, an immersion program for local high school & university students. Applications are available every spring. The Downtown Chapel is a community of contemplation and personal formation, that seeks to build bridges and confront prejudice.

Fr. Ron Raab, C.S.C. facilitates our monthly Personal Poverty Retreats, and writes for a number of publications. He has been at the Downtown Chapel since 2003.

Fr. Ron gives a tour of the Old Town neighborhood to a group of University of Portland students during a Personal Poverty Retreat.

Summer Internships

The Downtown Chapel offers internship opportunities every summer. These are available to college students and people in formation. We currently host a Summer Service Learning Project student from the University of Notre Dame each summer.

Jesuit Volunteer

The Downtown Chapel welcomes a Jesuit Volunteer every year as a member of our staff. The JV acts as the director of our Food Pantry, and is a member of our Pastoral Staff. It is important to our community to offer young adults this opportunity of formation. To learn more visit:
